Playground improvements are coming to Maplewood Park, and we would like your help with planning the play equipment design!   

King County Parks and Recreation Division proposes to replace the existing play area equipment and safety surfacing as part of the regular preventative maintenance program for asset lifecycle and to improve our parks per the 2019-2025 levy commitments. 

The existing play equipment was last installed in 2002 and though it is still safe for use, the parts are not always available for replacement due to its age and manufacturers not making those parts any longer. The design is also outdated, and the public in general prefers newer designs to keep their children’s imaginations connected to current trends and expectations.
