San Antonio Sports and Entertainment District
San Antonio Sports and Entertainment District
The City of San Antonio and its partners have unveiled a vision for a community-centered sports and entertainment district in downtown San Antonio.
The goal is to create a district that combines sports, entertainment, dining, shopping, and residential uses to attract locals and tourists, boost the economy and is accessible to our entire community.
The City’s key partners in this project include Bexar County, the Spurs, Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corporation (HPARC) and The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
The plan includes:
• Expanding the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center
• Constructing a new Convention Center Hotel
• Improving the Alamodome
• Renovating the John Woods Courthouse into a live entertainment venue
• Fostering mixed-use development
• Enhancing downtown infrastructure, including parking, transportation improvements, and neighborhood connections
• Construction of a new Spurs arena downtown
